The CHAS new Winter programme for the 2017-18 season is now online. There is an exciting line-up of speakers including Dr Pat Wallace, former Director of the National Museum, archivist Aideen Ireland and historian Dr Donal Ó Drisceoil. Of particular interest to Corkonians will be Dr Maurice F. Hurley and Dr Alan Hawkes’ lecture about the archaeological dig that has been taking place at the former Beamish & Crawford site on South Main Street. Historian Mary Lantry will provide a window on illuminated addresses, which enjoyed a vogue in late 19th-early 20th century Ireland. There is something for everyone in this new season’s programme of events, so why not join CHAS?
