Day Outing – Millstreet @ O'Keeffe's Supervalu

Day outing to Millstreet and its area. Speakers: Flor Hurley and others. Sites include Confederate solder’s grave, Millstreet; Drishane moated site; Kilcorney graveyard; Knocknakilla stone circle, stone row and radial cairn; Glantane East stone row and radial cairn, Drishane tower house.
Assemble O’Keeffe’s Supervalu car park, near The Square, 11.30 am.
Picnic lunch/own arrangements

Day Outing – Youghal @ Dolphin Square Car Park

Evening Outing – Heritage Week Event @ Monarch Glen
Aug 17 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Evening outing to Monard Glen, near Blarney, to visit Monard and Coolowen Ironworks, which were in operation from the 1730s to the 1960s. This event will link with the Skills and Traditions of the Past and the Water Heritage themes of National Heritage Week 2022. Speaker: Dr Colin Rynne.
Meet at 7pm at entrance to Monard Glen. Monard Glen is reached by going on the slip road after the sign for Killeens/Limerick over the N20, turning left at the Sunset Ridge Hotel and then straight on for approximately one kilometre. There is a Science Direct sign pointing to Monard Glen at the entrance.

Day Outing – Ballydehob @ Ballydehob Playground Car Park

Day outing to the Ballydehob area, west Cork. Speakers: Finola Finley and Robert Harris. Sites include Derreenaclogh rock art, Ballydehob railway and quay, Altar wedge tomb, Altar church (Rev Fisher and James Murphy), Dunmanus Castle, Ballydehob Arts Museum (with Brian Lalor).
Assemble at Ballydehob Playground car park, 11.30 am. The playground is located at the left hand side, before you enter the village, opposite the turn off to Bantry.
Picnic lunch/own arrangements.
