CHAS County Lecture:  ‘Archaeological Excavation and Restoration of a Bronze Age stone circle at Gorteanish, West Cork’ by Professor William O’Brien.

One of the aims of the Cork Historical & Archaeological Society is to promote the study of history and archaeology throughout the county and one of the ways it achieves this is through its annual County Lecture Series. This event, co-hosted with the Bantry Historical & Archaeological Society, founded in 1978, is the 2023-24 County Lecture. William O’Brien, Professor of Archaeology, UCC, will reveal the results of the recent excavation of the stone circle at Gorteanish, on the Sheep’s Head peninsula.

This lecture will be a live event at the Christian Fellowship Church, Tower Street, Bantry. (Eircode: P75 RW18)
